Dugway / CyrusOne

The U.S. Army has conditionally selected Dugway Proving Ground as one of two military installations to potentially host new data center projects, with CyrusOne — a company jointly held by funds managed by KKR and BlackRock — selected to enter exclusive negotiations. The project would comprise approximately 1,200 acres on military land.

The Army has stated that the initiative is intended to enhance AI capabilities and national security through private-sector partnerships. No deal has yet been finalized.

Inland Port adjacent

The Utah Inland Port Authority has attracted developer interest for data center activity near its Tooele jurisdiction. Specific proposals and developers have not yet been formally filed at the time of writing.

Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus

The state of Utah is finalizing an application to host a federal Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus in remote northwest Tooele County, near Delle. The Department of Energy has described these campuses as potential sites for advanced reactor deployment, power generation, advanced manufacturing, and co-located data centers.

How status categories are defined

  •  — A specific developer has been selected pending finalized agreements.
  •  — A project area or special zone has been created, but specific projects within it may not yet be filed.
  • — Developer interest is documented but no formal application has been filed.
  •  — A formal application has been submitted but not yet decided.
  •  — Approved by the relevant authority.
